England and Wales has 27,405 registered charities working on disability on the current register extract, of which 23,093 reported income in their latest return. Together they reported £22.16bn of income. The median charity took in £40k, while the largest tenth reported £897k or more, so a typical donation goes to a far smaller organisation than the household names at the top of this list.
Income is concentrated: the ten largest charities working on disability account for 12% of the total. Across the whole group, 6,345 charities have a note from the register, such as overdue accounts or three years of spending above income, and those notes are shown on each charity's page.
14,848 of the charities with reported income (64%) took in under £100k a year. Pages for the 15,863 charities with several years of accounts include their full income history, a comparison with similar-sized peers and a breakdown of where the money comes from.
