In the charity's own words

The Millichope foundation was founded in 1982 as a grant making charity by Lindsay and Sarah Bury, who wished to support the causes that were close to their interests in conservation, the arts and the welfare of Shropshire residents. It remains a family foundation and in recent years, the trustees have made the decision to direct the majority of funding to support local and regional causes.
